• The ACCIONA Microenergia foundation presented the ‘Luz en Casa’ programme in the Pacific Alliance’s IV Forum for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, which was held in Lima (Peru) under the subject “The innovation as a drive for social inclusion”

The Pacific Alliance’s Forum for Entrepreneurship and Innovation was launched by the promotion agencies of the member countries (Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru) in order to link and strengthen the entrepreneurial and innovative environments in the region.

In this fourth edition, the biggest forum for entrepreneurship and innovation of Latin America addressed two main themes: the IT and the Social Innovation. These matters were shared in different spaces, among others, keynote and guest speeches from international speakers (LABTalks), immersive workshops, business and investment meetings, demo days… where around 1,000 attendees were present.

In one of those LABTalks, Jose Gabriel Martin, Project Manager at the ACCIONA Microenergia foundation, presented the basis of the ‘Luz en Casa’ programmes’ electrification models for isolated rural communities, highlighting the importance of the continuous innovation in having got the achieved results, as well as the challenges that are currently faced: escalation, replication and development of new models. This allowed talking about the problem of the universal access to energy in this important forum; that issue affects 25 million of Latin-American people and is one of the goals of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda.

ACCIONA Microenergia and the Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are included in the 2030 Agenda, a 15-year plan of action that favours the people, the planet and the prosperity. There are 17 SDG which are integrated and indivisible and that comprise the three dimensions of the Development: economic, social and environmental.

The rural electrification programmes of the ACCIONA Microenergia foundation impact on those three dimensions, and directly on the SDG 7, Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.

By participating in LAB4+ the SDG17, Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development, is impacted too: we, individuals and organizations from different sectors and countries, have shared point of views and experiences in the implementation of actions for social innovation that contribute to the development of the region.

The ACCIONA Microenergia Foundation

It is the ACCIONA’s corporate foundation and has as objective the development cooperation, through the promotion of the access to basic services and infrastructures of people and communities that have no expectations of covering those needs.
