ACCIONA has received an award for “R&D&I applied to sport” from Madrid’s Sports Press Association (APDM) in recognition of the progress the company has made toward sustainability through the development of its ACCIONA 100% EcoPowered racing car.

The vehicle is the first and only racing car free of CO2 emissions to have competed in the Dakar Rally and the successful completion of another point-scoring event in the FIA calendar, the Morocco Rally.

Driver Ariel Jatón was charged with taking the vehicle into the El Retiro park in central Madrid to pick up the award, which valued the company’s commitment to uniting technology, innovation and respect for the environment in the project.
