• ACCIONA’s shared motorcycles will once again be available in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Zaragoza, Lisbon and Milan.
  • The units will be sanitized, and users will be given hydroalcoholic gel to disinfect contact areas before each trip

ACCIONA will today relaunch its motosharing service in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Zaragoza, Lisbon and Milan.

The company is relaunching its shared mobility service, which offers more than 7,000 motorcycles, after establishing a detailed hygiene protocol, designed in accordance with all the requirements and indications from national and local health authorities.

All units are now equipped with wipes for cleaning contact areas, such as the handlebars, as well as disposable helmet nets and a hydroalcohol hand gel to be applied before and after each use. In addition, the mobile app features information and recommendations for self-protection, hygiene and the proper use of the shared vehicles.

To guarantee the disinfection of all motorcycles and the replacement of personal protective equipment, the service’s opening timetable - which prior to the Covid19 pandemic was 24/7 – has been modified, and is now from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.

In an aim to improve user experience, a study ACCIONA carried out a survey on more than 1,500 interviewees to analyze users’ mobility needs post-Covid19, as well as their concerns regarding the use of shared mobility vehicles and their suggestions for improvement.

ACCIONA’S motosharing service will now offer citizens a safe and sustainable mobility alternative, offering a way to avoid crowded public transport and helping to reduce agglomerations in urban spaces caused by the use of privately-owned vehicles.

ACCIONA’s shared mobility service is part of the company's commitment to foster a sustainable development model, which features urban mobility alternatives that contribute to the fight against climate change.

The more than 7,000 motorcycles offered by ACCIONA in Seville, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Zaragoza, Lisbon and Milan have avoided a total of 1,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions, the equivalent of removing more than 93,000 vehicles from circulation for one day.

The group`s motorcycles boast a performance equivalent to 125cc and include various 'driving modes' that can be activated on both urban and fast roads, reaching up to 100 km/h.

To use this service, clients must first register on the ACCIONA Mobility app. Once registration info is validated, the exact location of motorcycles close by will appear on screen. These vehicles can then be used throughout the entire city but must be parked in the designated areas, indicated on the platform’s map.
