In 2023, ACCIONA began to implement a new ESG Risk and Opportunity Control system for its suppliers.
ACCIONA has launched the second edition of the Measure What Matters training program in collaboration with B Lab Spain to raise awareness and support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in its value chain in order to measure, manage and improve their environmental, social and governance (ESG) impact. The program will involve 50 companies selected in Spain and in addition, it will be extended to Australia, where another 50 suppliers will receive ESG training guided by B Lab Australia & New Zealand.
A total of 100 companies will participate in the program during six months. The first phase will help them to measure social and environmental impacts and, based on the results, to design a realistic evaluation model that will enable them to identify areas for improvement in ESG matters. This type of project helps to promote and consolidate the sustainability strategy in ACCIONA's value chain.
At the end of the program, the small and medium-sized enterprises that participate will obtain incentives in their commercial relationship with ACCIONA, such as improvements in their qualifications to access the company's tenders or inclusion in the category of preferred bidders.

100 small and medium-sized companies in ACCIONA's value chain participated in the first edition of the Measure What Matters program. The results were that 90% of the companies identified and planned improvements that positively impact their CO2 footprint, 82% of them established measures to reduce the waste they generate, and 76% of them designed initiatives for a greater social impact.
