  • RENEWAL: ACCIONA will thus reach 744 hirings under the ‘Convenio Inserta’ agreement, which it first adhered to in 2007

ACCIONA’s vice-chairman, Juan Ignacio Entrecanales, and the ONCE Foundation’s executive vice-chairman, Alberto Durán, have renewed the ‘Convenio Inserta’ agreement they first signed in 2007. This time, the agreement sets a target of hiring 150 people with disabilities over the next three years, bringing the total number of such hires since the collaboration began to 744.

ACCIONA will continue to rely on Inserta Empleo, the ONCE Foundation's training and employment agency, to fill new positions needed by the company, pre-select the people who best fit the requirements, and provide tailored training to enable them to perform their assigned tasks.

The agreement also includes other initiatives that indirectly favor the employment of people with disabilities, through the acquisition of equipment and the services of specialized employment centers.

ACCIONA and the ONCE Foundation first signed their collaboration agreement in 2007. In light of its positive results, the agreement was renewed in 2012 and 2017.

COMMITMENT

ACCIONA is fully committed to comprehensive equality and inclusion. Specifically, it seeks to promote all initiatives related to disability with a particular tool launched in 2024: the Disability Office. This is a center for comprehensive advice and individualized support that helps people with disabilities who join ACCIONA or already work there, as well as their managers and colleagues who have any questions or needs related to disability.

It is the first initiative of this kind in Spain’s corporate sphere, and it concentrates the knowledge acquired by the company over more than three decades of active work in the workplace inclusion of people with disabilities, so that this know-how is accessible to all areas of the company and all the countries in which it operates.

ACCIONA aims to provide support and resources to employees with disabilities by promoting their professional development and well-being at work, while making the employee experience inclusive and accessible. This commitment is part of its People strategy, which seeks to put people at the center of the company's management.

Currently, 4.6% of ACCIONA's workforce in Spain is made up of people with disabilities, exceeding the legal requirement, and it has recently been recognized for its inclusion work by entities such as the Bequal Foundation, the Randstad Foundation, the Red Cross, and the Integra Foundation.

The ONCE Foundation is Spain's leading social organization working for the full inclusion of people with disabilities through the development of initiatives and programs in the fields of employment, training, accessibility, and design for all, with the aim of promoting globally accessible environments, products, and services.

The ONCE Foundation launched Inserta Empleo, which is a human resources agency specialized in assisting people with disabilities and focused on improving their training for their full inclusion in the labor market. It has more than 25 years of experience and a team of experts in guidance and mediation in its 48 offices across Spain. It helps people with disabilities find jobs, trains them if necessary, and offers companies the best candidates for the positions they need to fill. All of this is provided at no cost. Inserta Empleo's activities are part of the ESF+ state programs for “Youth Employment” and “Social Inclusion, Child Guarantee, and the Fight Against Poverty”, as well as the ESF+ program for the Canary Islands, which are developed by the ONCE Foundation through Inserta Empleo with co-financing from the European Union in order to increase training and employment for people with disabilities.
