The project was awarded to ACCIONA and Al-Rashid Trading & Contracting Company (RTCC).

Located in the Southwest of the country, in the Red Sea coast, this new plant has replaced the previous one, improving the production and updating the sector´s technology. Thanks to its commissioning, it supplies drinking water to more than 3.5 million people in the Kingdom´s Southwest region, helping to offset the water scarcity.

This project is part of the Saudi Arabia national program to transform and modernize the water sector, aligned with the ambitious goals of it vision 2030.
