ACCIONA carries out end-to-end management of the service for the Monte Ariza Irrigation Community in Frigiliana, Málaga. The company provides a service to 400 farmers over 231 hectares, thereby contributing to the sustainability of the agricultural sector.

The contract includes plans to optimise water, energy and administrative management, resulting in improvements that reduce operating costs and energy consumption.
Groundwater is the source of supply for this Irrigation Community. It is raised by well pumping equipment systems and distributed to the plots of the joint owners. Irrigation by plot is the most efficient system, either by drip or localised irrigation.

About 80% of water consumption in Spain is for agriculture, with more than 15,000 hm³/year used for irrigation. ACCIONA, as a leader in the comprehensive water cycle, is committed to sustainable and innovative technologies to ensure the supply of water to the agricultural sector and to irrigation communities.
