The Alentejo Hospital, located in Évora, is currently ACCIONA’s most important construction project in Portugal, with an investment of 149 million euros. The main objective of this ambitious project is to provide the population of Évora and the entire Alentejo region with a modern hospital unit.

The hospital, with a capacity of 400 beds distributed over 10 storeys, includes various facilities such as:

- In-patient units.

- Technical care units.

- Outpatient care units.

- Care support units.

- General support and training units.

In addition to the construction of the main building, ACCIONA is also developing 127,000 m2 of green areas, the construction of a heliport, parking areas with a capacity of 1,560 parking spaces and internal roads, including the connection to the EN 114-Estrada de Lisboa and EN-380 main roads.

DECARBONIZATION INITIATIVES

ACCIONA has integrated an innovative energy storage system in the development of the project. This system, consisting mainly of long-life, low-maintenance lithium-ion batteries and a 100 kVa generator, powers a crane tower used in the construction of the hospital.

This approach significantly reduces the environmental footprint associated with the crane's energy consumption, reducing fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
