Sergas, the Galician healthcare service, has awarded ACCIONA Service the hospital cleaning contract for the University of Pontevedra Hospital Complex, comprising the Montecelo and Provincial de Pontevedra hospitals. The two year contract is worth a total of €14.2 million and is extendable for an additional two years.

This latest contract will further strengthen ACCIONA Service’s presence in Galicia’s healthcare sector, through its facility services business, where it has been providing cleaning services to the University of Vigo Hospital Complex since 2014, consisting of Xeral-Cíes and Rebullón hospitals, the Coia and Doblada specialist centres, the medical history archive and the general storage centre which are the responsibility of the Vigo Integrated Management Service.

The hospital cleaning segment is a growing area for ACCIONA Service as its service level certifications and experience with national and international clients mark the company out as a qualified supplier. ACCIONA currently manages hospital cleaning services in Madrid, Castilla y León, the Canary Islands, Catalonia and Aragón, as well as Galicia, all in Spain. Internationally it also operates in Portugal, Canada and Qatar.
