  • The new facility will help to supervise and manage over 1,000 kilometers of power transmission lines and 28 substations linked to the company’s projects in the country

ACCIONA has inaugurated a new Control Center at its corporate offices in San Isidro (Lima). This technological infrastructure will enable the company to monitor its electricity transmission projects in the country in real time. These projects represent investment commitments totaling US$800 million (€710 million).

Peru's minister of Energy and Mines, Guillermo Shinno, participated in the inauguration of the Control Center, among other public figures.

The facility incorporates artificial intelligence and advanced technology to centralize monitoring of the grid’s status and streamline the response to any incident. In addition, the platform is designed with scalable architecture ready to progressively integrate future projects that the company adds to its portfolio.

Currently, ACCIONA’s Concessions business in Peru has eight transmission projects awarded through Proinversión. These developments total more than 1,000 kilometers of high- and very-high-voltage power lines and 28 substations, consolidating the company’s presence in a strategic sector for Peru’s energy development.

With this new center, ACCIONA is not only supporting the expansion of its business but also directly contributing to strengthening the capacity and reliability of Peru’s National Interconnected Electricity System (SEIN), optimizing power transmission in response to growing demand in the country.

KEY COUNTRY

ACCIONA has been operating in Peru since 1998, where it has become a key player in infrastructure, transportation, water and energy, and has also established itself as one of the leading operators of power transmission lines in Latin America following its acquisition of Darby International Capital’s high-voltage business in 2024.

In the transportation sector, its most recent projects include the new control towers at the Jorge Chávez and Chinchero-Cusco airports, the Chimbote bypass and the award of the Lima Peripheral Ring Road concession for a 30-year period, in a consortium with Ferrovial and Sacyr.

ACCIONA also has a solid track record in public buildings such as the Daniel Alcides Carrión Hospital, mining projects such as the Antamina pumping system and water infrastructure projects such as the Pachacutec water treatment plant.

In the energy sector, it built a 225MW photovoltaic plant in Arequipa for Kallpa Generación and sold the San Juan de Marcona wind farm for €256 million at the end of 2025.

Through its foundation, acciona.org, the company has been promoting access to energy and clean water in isolated, low-income communities since 2009, through initiatives such as the Light at Home program in Cajamarca.
