  • At a ceremony in Brussels this week, ACCIONA was awarded at the CDP Europe Awards for attaining the highest level in the CDP Water Security 2018 index.

ACCIONA was honored at CDP Europe Award for attaining the highest level in the CDP Water Security 2018 index, in recognition of its sustainable water management. José M. Ortega Loizaga, Head of Development in EMEA at ACCIONA Agua, received the prize.

As in previous years, ACCIONA attained the highest score and is the only Spanish company included in the Water A List, which contains just 31 companies worldwide, of the over 2,000 that were analysed.

CDP rated factors such as how the company manages water risks and opportunities, the commitments included in its water policy, and its water strategy, as expressed in its Sustainability Master Plan.

CDP also named ACCIONA as a 'Supplier Engagement Leader' for its actions and strategies to manage climate change and carbon emissions throughout its supply chain.

The inclusion in this index strengthens ACCIONA's position in the eyes of public- and private-sector clients and other stakeholders for whom sustainability is a part of their strategy.

CDP is a not-for-profit charity that manages a global disclosure system which enables investors, companies, cities, states and regions to measure and manage their environmental impacts. It advises 650 institutional investors with assets worth 87 trillion dollars.
