  • The project receives three awards for its transportation solution, financial structure and roadway development

ACCIONA, as part of a consortium with ACS Infrastructure and Meridiam, has won three 2026 P3 Awards for the SR 400 highway in Atlanta, United States, in the categories “Best Transportation Project,” “Best Financial Structure” and “Best Road, Bridge & Tunnel Project.”

The P3 Awards, organized by P3 Bulletin magazine, are among the most prestigious accolades in the sector and recognize excellence each year in projects delivered through public-private partnerships (P3s).

The three awards further reinforce international recognition of ACCIONA’s expertise in developing public-private partnership projects and managing assets throughout their life cycle.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The highway will feature two tolled express lanes in each direction along a 26-miles stretch. It is one of the main connections between Atlanta’s major employment centers. The concession is being developed in coordination with the Georgia Department of Transportation and the State Road and Tollway Authority. The expansion of the existing route is designed to ease congestion and reduce travel times through the construction of new express lanes.

The SR 400 highway in Georgia, United States, is the largest concession contract in the company’s history. ACCIONA will operate the asset for 55 years, making operational responsibility critical from the outset. The long-term operations and maintenance model enables the corridor to be managed in an integrated manner throughout all phases of construction.
