• The company has received awards in the "Best Desalination Company of the Year" and "Best Drinking Water Project" categories, the latter for the Laguna Lake DWTP in the Philippines.

ACCIONA has received two awards at Global Water Intelligence 2024, one of the water sector's most prestigious annual events. The aim of these awards is to recognise excellence in the international water industry, rewarding initiatives that make a major contribution to the industry’s progress.

In this year's edition, ACCIONA won an award in the "Best Desalination Company of the Year" category. It recognises the company's considerable progress in recent years, consolidating its position at the top of world rankings of water services contracting, and as one of the leading international players in desalination projects.

Over the year, the company has demonstrated its capacity as a global leader in desalination with awards such as the one for the Casablanca SWDP in Morocco, which will be the second largest desalination plant in the world, or the Alkimos desalination, plant; this project has been chosen as preferred bidder by the Water Corporation of Western Australia.

ACCIONA also received the award for "Best Drinking Water Project of the Year" for the Laguna Lake brackish water treatment plant in the Philippines. This plant was built in two phases, reaching a capacity of 150 million litres per day. This highly advanced DWTP will help to solve the problem of poor water quality in the area by applying an advanced sludge and algae treatment process, among other technologies.
