- A smart, scalable solution for managing complex construction projects worldwide
ACCIONA, a global leader in sustainable infrastructure, has launched a new innovative digital platform designed to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability across construction projects worldwide.
The Atlas system integrates a wide range of digital tools such as data monitoring, automation, and real-time analytics into a single user-friendly platform which provides real-time data and insights to optimize project performance. Designed for diverse infrastructure projects – including roads, highways, tunnels, railways, metros, ports, and buildings – it enables seamless monitoring, control and management of construction activities.
The platform’s modular and scalable design allows the tool to be adapted to the specific needs of each project. Key features include tunnel boring machine (TBM) data management, assets tracking, geotechnical monitoring, concrete traceability, and earthwork production tracking. Atlas also enhances workplace safety with real-time air quality monitoring, emergency alerts, video surveillance, and worker location tracking.
Environmental monitoring tools within the platform provide real-time and historical data analysis to support sustainability initiatives. Maintenance management is streamlined through digital tools for preventive and corrective maintenance, while automated inventory tracking ensures efficient warehouse management. Concrete production processes are fully digitalized, enhancing traceability and compliance with industry standards.
Atlas is already delivering results on key projects worldwide, including the stormwater diversion channel component of the comprehensive Fargo-Moorhead Area Flood Diversion project in North Dakota, USA – one of the largest infrastructure projects in the USA - where it plays a critical role in fleet management for equipment and light vehicles. It also enables precise earthmoving production control with timesheet management, equipment maintenance, and fuel tracking to support decarbonization efforts.
In Brazil, the platform is improving tunnel data management and instrumentation monitoring in the construction of São Paulo Metro’s Line 6, the largest public private partnership in Latin America. In Chile, ACCIONA optimizes asset tracking, fuel management, and earthwork monitoring for a major reservoir project. Meanwhile, in Poland, it supports TBM operations, segment traceability, and safety systems on the S19 double road tunnel.
The digital platform was developed as part of ACCIONA's ongoing efforts to drive innovation in the construction industry. By integrating advanced technologies, ACCIONA aims to enhance project efficiency, safety, and sustainability, reflecting their commitment to leveraging digital transformation to meet the evolving demands of modern construction.
KEY PROJECTS
ACCIONA has a growing presence in the U.S. infrastructure sector, delivering sustainable and technologically advanced solutions across a range of projects. In Louisiana, ACCIONA is leading the design and construction of the Calcasieu River Bridge, a critical infrastructure upgrade that will enhance connectivity and safety along Interstate 10. The project includes innovative engineering solutions to improve traffic flow and resilience, ensuring long-term durability for one of the region’s key transport corridors. Additionally, in Georgia, ACCIONA is developing the SR 400 Express Lanes project, a major expansion aimed at reducing congestion and improving mobility in the greater Atlanta area.
Beyond transport infrastructure, ACCIONA is also driving innovation in sustainable water solutions. In California, the company will design and construct the Doheny Ocean Desalination Plant in Orange County, a state-of-the-art facility designed to bolster local water supply resilience. Utilizing cutting-edge desalination technology, the project will provide a sustainable source of drinking water while minimizing environmental impact.
