  • The award recognizes the quality of the new hotel development and its contribution to Lisbon’s urban fabric

ME Lisbon Hotel, built by ACCIONA, has won the Melhor Empreendimento Imobiliário – Construção Nova award, translated as Best New-Build Real Estate Development, in the Tourism subcategory at the SIL do Imobiliário 2026 Awards, one of the most prestigious honors in Portugal’s real estate sector.

The jury recognized the project for its architectural concept, integration into the urban environment, and position as a new hospitality landmark in Lisbon. The property, which opened in 2025, also marks the arrival of the ME by Meliá brand in Portugal.

Located in central Lisbon, next to Marquês de Pombal and Avenida da Liberdade, the hotel has 20 floors and 213 rooms, as well as dining, wellness, and event spaces. The project combines contemporary design, a strong connection to the city, and a cultural dimension linked to Portuguese artists.

SOCIAL IMPACT OF THE PROJECT

Alongside the construction of the ME Lisbon Hotel, ACCIONA and Meliá Hotels International promoted a social initiative aimed at improving employment opportunities for people at risk of social exclusion in Portugal. The program offers theoretical and practical training for different roles in the hospitality sector, with the goal of supporting participants’ entry into the labor market.
