  • The company took part in an ESG event relating to the environmental, social and corporate governance factors that companies take into account when investing.

On 10 June, ACCIONA took part in an event organised by the GRI Association, attended by international leaders from the real estate sector and the leading operators in the infrastructure sector.

The online conference focused on analysing the opportunities and challenges of financing and developing infrastructures under ESG criteria, which refers to the environmental, social and corporate governance factors that companies take into account when investing.

Alberto Díaz del Río, Global Head of Sustainability and Institutional Relations for ACCIONA’s concessions business, took part in one of the roundtable sessions about the risks, challenges and alternatives to ESG criteria in infrastructure investments.

Some of the issues discussed during the session in which Alberto Díaz del Río took part included the types of projects that are most susceptible to these criteria, the programs needed to ensure correct compliance with them, and potential ways for eliminating the risks that may arise.

During the event, prominent investors, operators, banks, construction companies and advisory firms all came together to share their experiences and perspectives around these issues.
