The construction of the WWTO is part of the third stage of the Extension and Improvement Plan for the Drinking Water and Sanitation System for the Pachacútec Macro-Project.

It consists of two facilities: the Pachacútec Wastewater Treatment Plant and the discharge of the effluent into the sea after treatment in an underwater pipeline, the discharge point being located in Pachacútec.

ACCIONA is also carrying out a number of initiatives in communities near the plant, such as cleaning Cavero Beach, with the aim of contributing to protecting the environment, people’s health and the sustainable development of the community.
