The Fouka plant is a reverse osmosis desalination plant situated in the Wilaya of Tipaza, a few kilometres west of Algiers. The water produced by this plant supplies the Tipaza area and the western part of Algiers via the existing networks. The desalination plant ensures the water supply for a population of 800,000.

The catchment of sea water is carried out through the open intake system. The pre-treatment includes sand and cartridge filtration, as well as chemical dosages.
