ACCIONA Ingeniería is heading the feasibility study, the preliminary design and the final design of the SITRAMSS for the institutions FOSEP and VMT, under the supervision of the  Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), which is financing the works with a loan for $45M.

The SITRAMSS is a milestone in the history of urban transport in El Salvador and a starting point for the modernization of the public transport system in the rest of the country.

The project includes the final design of the separate lane for BRT articulated buses, the draft project for the 13 stops and the Intermodal Terminal at Soyapango (covering 15,569 m2), the final design for the viaduct between Bulevar Castellanos and Bulevar del Ejército (length: 415 m), the final design for the viaduct between 50 Av. Norte and Bulevar del Ejército (length: 460 m) and the draft project for the Operations Control Centre.

Also carried out were traffic demand studies, the environmental impact study, operational analysis, works program, operation and maintenance plan, economic and financial viability study, implementation plan, and the design of the organizational and industrial structure.
