Comprising 49 Nordex wind turbines, wind farm began operations in 2025
Located approximately 6 kilometers east of Bow Island, in the County of Forty Mile No. 8, the Forty Mile Wind Farm is ACCIONA Energía’s fifth project in Canada and the company’s largest in North America and among the ten biggest in the country.
The project which began operations in 2025, generates enough clean energy to power more than 85,000 homes.
This installation consists of 49 Nordex wind turbines, each with a capacity of 5.7 MW and a tower height of 108 meters. Phase I of the project, with 280 MW was completed in May 2025.
ACCIONA Energía collaborated closely with stakeholders, including local governmental agencies and landowners, to ensure a smooth development and maximize the project’s positive impact on the community.
