The planned section of expressway includes 2 slip roads (at Santa Elena and to the road to Aldeaquemada), 3 tunnels (2,625 meters), 6 viaducts (2,190 meters), 1 overpass, 2 underpasses (one of them over-dimensioned to allow wildlife to pass through) and 3 retaining walls.

The project represents advantages for the area around the Natural Park of Despeñaperros thanks to the several environmental measures introduced. Among them, we would highlight the lower vulnerability of the wildlife in the area, a higher number of crossing points for animals, the creation of a greenway along the old National IV road, the protection of archeological heritage, the cleaning and restoration or river beds and banks, and improvements in the habitat of rabbits and lynxes, etc.

The Area of Engineering of ACCIONA was awarded the 2013 Aqueduct of Segovia Prize for its work on this project in the Planner category.
