The LIFE-Celsius Project, with the contribution of the LIFE financial instrument of the European Union (LIFE14 ENV/ES/000203), proposes to use an innovative system for wastewater treatment in warm climate areas, characterized by low energy consumption.
The project is coordinated by the water business of ACCIONA and counts with the participation of Agencia EFE through its EFE Green Platform, with the aim of expanding the impact of the project and approaching it to the society.
The proposed system is based on the use of non-conventional wastewater treatment technologies with low energy consumption, like anaerobic processes, especially if they are run in warm climate regions. The project has been implemented at pilot plant scale, located at the premises of the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) of Archena (Murcia) and the results obtained can be extrapolated to any other WWTP.
