ACCIONA, in collaboration with Arup, is building the Brisbane Metro project, a rapid transit system consisting of high-frequency, high-capacity bi-articulated electric vehicles that will serve the central business district of Queensland's most populous city.

The AU$1.7 billion (€1.000.000 million) project is a tunnel under Brisbane's CBD, designed to carry up to 1,800 passengers per hour. The new subway will be served by 60 bi-articulated electric buses that can carry between 150 and 170 passengers.

The initiative will have direct benefits for the people of Brisbane, eliminating transport congestion, reducing congestion in the central business district, and increasing the frequency of public transport.
