• Road reorganization: This six-kilometre section connects the town of Abrera with Terrassa and also contributes to the reorganization of the roads in the area, with four interchanges.

ACCIONA and its partners today celebrated the inauguration of the section of the Barcelona ring road (B40) between Olesa de Montserrat-Viladecavalls, in a ceremony attended by the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, among others.

This section, built with a budget of 260 million euros - is the middle of the three sections into which the Abrera-Terrassa corridor has been divided, running between the eastern bank of the River Llobregat and the C-16 toll highway, crossing the Ribes mountain range by means of a tunnel, which is the most characteristic element of the project.

The opening of this more than six-kilometer-long section, consisting of two independent 3.5-meter-wide lanes with 2.5-meter external shoulders and 1.5-meter internal shoulders, and 1.3-kilometer long twin-tube tunnel, will link the town of Abrera with Terrassa and contribute to the reorganization of the area’s roads through four interchanges.

In addition to the presence of the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility and other authorities, the inauguration ceremony was attended by several representatives of the construction joint venture, including Francesc Lopez, ACCIONA’s Construction business director for Eastern Spain.
