  • QUALITY AND SAFETY. This equipment improves the inspection and maintenance of sewerage networks, reducing occupational risks and speeding up the process

ACCIONA has incorporated state-of-the-art technologies, such as drones and robots, for the review and inspection of the sewerage network in the city of Bilbao. The company has already carried out the first pilot inspection with this new technology in 11 of the 61 kilometers of sewers suitable for its application, as they have a diameter of more than 80 centimeters.

The use of these technologies leads to a more efficient and sustainable maintenance of the sewerage network.

The drones have high-resolution cameras capable of detecting obstructions, leaks and structural deterioration in areas that are difficult to access, enabling faster and more accurate diagnoses.

The robot dogs, which ACCIONA also uses to inspect tunnels and confined areas, are designed to move in narrow spaces and are equipped with 360º cameras and artificial intelligence systems that help identify cracks, corrosion or the accumulation of waste in pipes.

These devices also provide occupational safety benefits and reduce the need for workers to physically access potentially hazardous spaces. They also increase operational efficiency, as this technology is able to collect data in real time, anticipating potential breakdowns. Moreover, these drones and robots make it possible to optimize resources while preventing major breakdowns and reducing the environmental impact related to emergency interventions.
