- Warmi Ñan National Program: This initiative aims to promote inclusion and gender equality in traditionally male-dominated sectors
As part of the Warmi Ñan National Program, ACCIONA and Peru’s Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations (MIMP) have signed a cooperation agreement to promote employment opportunities for women victims of gender-based violence. This initiative contributes to their economic autonomy and advances equality and the prevention of violence in the country.
As a leader in developing infrastructure and renewable energy projects, ACCIONA is spearheading this initiative by offering formal, secure jobs with benefits, as well as technical training programs to boost participants’ talent and promote their professional and personal development. The company will also guarantee the confidentiality of the beneficiaries’ personal data, ensuring an inclusive, safe and respectful environment.
“At ACCIONA, we firmly believe that female talent is essential for the sustainable development of projects and society. This alliance enables us to dispel stereotypes, create opportunities in traditionally male-dominated fields, and provide more women with the chance to thrive on equal terms, thereby generating a positive impact on their social and family environments,” said Virginia Katherinne Gamboa, ACCIONA’s Organization, Talent, and Health Manager in Peru.
The MIMP, through the Warmi Ñan National Program, will identify and prepare users to join the initiative and accompany them in the process of entering the labor market. The program will also train ACCIONA staff in preventing violence against women and family members, helping to build safe spaces that align with the experiences of female workers.
This agreement is part of ACCIONA’s global PEOPLE strategy, which puts people at the center of business management and consolidates gender equality and equity as cross-cutting pillars for sustainable economic, social, and human progress. Additionally, the MIMP reaffirms its commitment to promoting structural changes in favor of women by joining forces with strategic allies from the private sector.
