Windfarm Experience recreates a visit to a wind farm on the company’s stand in AWEA 2016, which is being held in New Orleans (USA) until May 26th

Visitors can climb to the top of a wind turbine and interact with the machine’s components, as well as taking a stroll on the outside of the nacelle
In AWEA Windpower, the biggest wind power fair in North America, being held in New Orleans (Louisiana, USA) until May 26th, ACCIONA Energía is presenting a 100% immersive virtual reality (VR) experience that will allow visitors to its stand to make an imaginary visit to a wind farm for the first time.
Thanks to a system using the latest VR technology, including goggles and two joystick-type controls for the hands, the user can make a virtual tour of a wind farm, go up the inside of a wind turbine tower in an elevator up to the nacelle, look around the interior, interact with the different elements and then go outside the nacelle for a great view of the landscape from the top of the machine. All this takes place in a virtual 3D environment that creates the illusion of taking part in a real experience.
The software of this product, which the company is presenting in public for the first time, has been developed by the ACCIONA’s Innovation Department together with ACCIONA Energía as a novel tool to allow visitors and customers to get to know the services we offer in a more detailed and attractive way, and also the operational facilities of the company, without the need to actually travel to a particular site.
