• The company stands out for the score it obtained in the integration of sustainability into its business, its management of social impact and innovation, its strategy against climate change and in favor of human capital development.

ACCIONA has been listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) Europe, which recognizes the best sustainability practices of European companies, and it has been ratified for the tenth successive year in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World). This milestone acknowledges the company’s ability to constantly improve its sustainability polices and apply them to stay at the level of the world leaders.

The company has improved its overall score, consolidating the trend of improvement since it joined the index in the Electric Utilities industry. It is worth highlighting the score obtained in some criteria in which RobecoSAM has strengthened its analysis, such as the materiality of companies’ sustainable practices. ACCIONA also stands out for its management of customer relations, innovation, risk management, strategy against climate change, environmental and social reporting and human capital development.

The latest DJSI Europe index includes 154 companies from 13 countries (from a total of 615 invited companies). Twenty-four companies have left and another 25 have joined it. For its part, the DJSI World now consists of 316 companies from 24 countries (from a total 2,535 invited companies) following the entry of 50 new firms and the exit of 45. The changes in the indexes will become effective from 19 September.

Among the main changes in the rating criteria in comparison with the previous edition, there is stronger focus on how companies select and report the sustainability factor that are material for them, plus a new criterion that analyzes systems for the measurement and management of the company’s social impact, and more wide-ranging information requirements to assess policies for compliance with human rights in the work environment and in brand management.
