All the electricity supplied will have 100% renewable guarantees of origin, avoiding the emission of 2,255 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, equivalent to planting more than 125,000 trees
ACCIONA Energía announced today the signing of an agreement with shopping center owner Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) to install 180 new electric vehicle charging points in four shopping centers in Spain.
The charging stations will be available for public use and will be installed in the shopping centers of Garbera (San Sebastian), Westfield La Maquinista (Barcelona), Westfield Parquesur (Leganés, Madrid), Splau (Cornellà de Llobregat, Barcelona) and Bonaire (Aldaia, Valencia), all of which are managed by URW.
In total, customers will have access to more than 5MW of energy across these shopping centers. The chargers will be of two kinds: regular speed ones (22kW) and ultra-fast ones (120-150kW), allowing users to enjoy efficient charging adapted to their needs.
All the electricity supplied will have 100% renewable guarantees of origin, avoiding the emission of 2,255 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, equivalent to planting more than 125,000 trees.
With this project, ACCIONA Energía takes another step forward in its efforts to accelerate decarbonization, contributing to greater penetration of electric vehicles. The company entered the electric vehicle charging market at the end of 2021 with the development, operation and maintenance of fast and ultra-fast charging points located on the main interurban routes and in urban centers in Spain.
ACCIONA Energía currently manages more than 4,000 charging stations, including its own and third-party ones. The company is installing the largest street charging station in Madrid and has recently signed agreements to install more than 1,000 new public charging points throughout Spain.
