- The regional government of Galicia is investing more than €49 million. The project is currently 12% complete with the works expected to be completed in 2023.
On 21 May, ACCIONA received a visit from the president of the regional government of Galicia, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, at the works to expand Ferrol Hospital.
The project consists of expanding the existing Arquitecto Marcide Hospital by constructing around 29,800 m2 of new buildings on the eastern and southern sides of the existing building, as well as remodelling the lower ground floor of the current centre to relocate the accident and emergency, cardiology, neurosciences, nephrology and hospitalisation services (including intensive care and paediatrics). The project also includes the remodelling of the Naval Hospital to transfer the pharmacy services and the microbiology laboratories to its facilities, among others.
The investment by the regional government of Galicia to extend the hospital, carried out by ACCIONA as part of a joint-venture, exceeds €49 million. The project is currently 12% complete and the works are expected to be completed in 2023.
During the visit, the president of the regional government of Galicia was accompanied by the Mayor of Ferrol, Ángel Mato Escalona, and by the regional minister for health, Julio García Comesaña, as well as by various ACCIONA representatives.
