• Albert Foix, head of the technical department of ACCIONA’s infrastructure maintenance area, took part in the panel session “Free communications”.

ACCIONA was present on 26 and 28 October at the 16th Highways Operation and Maintenance Conference held in Seville.

The conference, organised by the Technical Highways Association and ACEX and promoted by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, was themed around the subject of “The highway: essential infrastructure”. It focused on issues such as the expectations and challenges in the sector, digitalisation, road safety, winter road management, sustainability in the sector, etc.

Albert Foix, head of the technical department of ACCIONA’s infrastructure maintenance area, took part in the discussion panel entitled “Free communications”, which examined the perception of users and the impact on traffic speeds.

ACCIONA also gave two other presentations, which were summed up by members from ACEX. One of them was about the Zero IOT project, presented by Gonzalo Toledo, COEX manager for the A2T2 concession company, about the interconnection of a set of sound devices that emit warnings to provide early detection of high risk situations that could lead to real life incidents, as well as the improvements implemented since the system was created to offer enhanced versions. The second innovation, presented by Cristina Rodriguez, head of occupational health and safety, quality and the environment in ACCIONA’s infrastructure maintenance area, was SDA, a vehicle range detection system that improves the safety of workers carrying out road maintenance and conservation operations.
