  • These initiatives are strengthening ties with communities in the areas surrounding the project ACCIONA is building

ACCIONA has reached approximately 60,000 people in São Paulo, Brazil, through a range of social programs delivered as part of the construction of the new Metro Line 6. The programs focus on education, employability, gender equality, and human rights, aimed at leaving a lasting social legacy in nearby communities.

The actions were designed based on a detailed assessment of local needs, with a focus on the most vulnerable communities.

One of the flagship programs, “ACCIONA por Ellas,” promotes gender equality and income generation for economically vulnerable women. Since it launched, more than 1,560 women have received vocational training in creative sewing and beauty services, along with sessions on women’s empowerment, self-esteem, and entrepreneurship—enabling many to start their own businesses and earn incomes above the minimum wage.

Through “ACCIONA en las escuelas,” more than 11,000 children and young people have taken part in activities focused on safety, sustainability, urban mobility, and preparation for working life. The program supports teachers and families while building participants’ key skills for the future workplace. The initiative is also directly aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4): Quality Education.

ACCIONA has also developed human rights initiatives through projects such as “Bienestar,” aimed at older adults, and “Al ritmo de los derechos humanos,” aimed at teenagers and young people. Corporate volunteering has also helped broaden the reach of these actions, supporting thousands of people in particularly vulnerable situations.

All of these initiatives are designed to be sustainable and replicable over time, reinforcing ACCIONA’s commitment to delivering a positive, lasting impact beyond the infrastructure itself.
