  • ACCIONA's work will include the development and implementation of a commissioning management system, as well as the coordination of the construction and start-up teams.

ACCIONA has been selected by Newmont to provide commissioning services for the East Plant and West Plant treatment facilities at the Yanacocha mine in Peru. The 19-month contract covers the coordination and supervision of both facilities, as well as the associated auxiliary systems.

ACCIONA's work will include the development and implementation of a commissioning management system, as well as the coordination of the construction and start-up teams. The company will be responsible for verifying that the systems are functioning properly, overseeing testing, and coordinating with specialized vendors. In addition, it will provide technical support and lead the initial operational phases, ensuring the project’s environmental compliance, reliability, and safety.

A KEY COUNTRY

ACCIONA has a long-standing track record in Peru’s water sector, with numerous projects that reinforce its presence in the country and its expertise in water infrastructure. Some of these initiatives include La Chira wastewater treatment plant, which has a capacity of 544,320 m³/day for 2.5 million population equivalents, and the Pachacútec wastewater treatment plant, with a capacity of 320,000 m³/day. It has also developed the Talara desalination plant, the country’s first industrial-scale reverse osmosis facility, and the Lima Drinking Water and Sewerage Service (SEDAPAL), which manages water supplies for more than nine million residents.
