• The event, organised by the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships, examined the main challenges facing the infrastructure sector, especially in Canada.

ACCIONA took part in the CCPPP Annual Conference from 17 to 19 November organised by the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships and held online.

The central theme of the event, which has become a leading international forum for government officials and corporate executives in the P3 sector, was the main challenges facing the infrastructure sector around the world and especially in Canada.

During the conference, Fernando Vara, global business development director for ACCIONA’s railways and tunnels specialised business unit, took part in the panel discussion entitled “Concrete and Steel: Building 21st-Century Transit”, alongside important representatives from the sector such as the president of Metrolinx, Phil Verster.

During the session, they discussed the challenges facing the industry and how to work with authorities to ensure that infrastructure projects are constructed efficiently and sustainably. They also looked at investment by governments around the world in new transport projects and the opportunities that this is creating for innovative companies that offer sustainable and efficient solutions to meet existing and future demand. The session also analysed new partnership models for the public and private sectors and the ways in which new infrastructure projects are designed and procured.
