  • The project is already 54% complete

The Los Merinos Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), designed to treat a peak flow of 7.9 m³/s, has made significant progress and is now more than 54% complete. This flagship project is not only the largest wastewater treatment plant in Ecuador, but also one of the most important in the region.

In recent months, the site has received the main electromechanical equipment required for operation, a key milestone that marks progress in the technological implementation of the project.

This progress represents a firm step towards the implementation of a strategic infrastructure that will help manage the region’s water supply, contributing significantly to environmental sustainability and basic sanitation.

With a capacity to serve 1,500,000 inhabitants, the plant is the fifth water project developed by ACCIONA in the country, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable development and improving the quality of life of Ecuadorian communities.
