Solar thermal plants for clients

Engineering, construction and operation of solar thermal plants at the service of the client as an EPC project contractor

SOLAR THERMAL POWER

In 2007, ACCIONA played the leading role in the revival of concentrated solar power (CSP) when it commissioned the Nevada Solar One plant in the desert of Nevada, USA. It became the first company in the world to launch a thermoelectric plant after the projects undertaken in California between 1985 and 1991.

After that, it installed five additional solar thermal power plants, all in Spain, totalling 249.80 MW in capacity, which were disinvested in 2018.

Currently, ACCIONA offers its extensive experience in the engineering, construction and operation of CSP plants to clients as an EPC (turnkey) project contractor. The most relevant projects awarded are two plants in South Africa (Kathu, 100MW, and Bokpoort, 50WM), and a 110MW-tower technology plant being built in Chile (Cerro Dominador). All of them feature energy storage systems,

WHAT IS SOLAR ENERGY AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Solar energy has many benefits that make it one of the most promising. It is also ideal for use in isolated points of the network or in areas that are difficult to access.
