The WWTP was designed according to a strict environmental protection plan which seeks to avoid any negative effects on the plant’s surrounding areas.

The plant’s design includes a biological nutrient removal system that provides optimal effluent quality.

The treated water is returned to the river without affecting the existing ecosystem, ensuring an improvement in conditions for the Tahuando River.
