It consists of 128 wind turbines and is one of ACCIONA's largest wind farms in Australia, operational since 2009.

With 192 MW installed, the Waubra wind farm is the biggest operated by ACCIONA in Australia and one of the ones with the highest capacity implemented by the company worldwide. Located in the south-east of the country in the State of Victoria, it has 128 wind turbines of ACCIONA Windpower technology (1.5 MW each). It produces energy equivalent to the demand from around 110,000 homes, avoiding the emission of around 650,000 metric tons of CO2 to the atmosphere from coal-fired power stations.

TURBINE FOR LIFE

Proyecto que contribuye al aumento de la vida útil de los aerogeneradores, a conocer el estado de la flota y detectar comportamientos anómalos para optimizar la gestión y los costes de operación y mantenimiento de los activos. 

Para el análisis de la vida remanente de los componentes estructurales se trabaja desarrollando modelos físicos. Para la predicción de fallos en la flota de aerogeneradores de Acciona se está trabajando en dos líneas: el desarrollo de WindBrain® para la detección de comportamientos anómalos, y el uso de Machine Learning para identificar patrones de fallo en componentes eólicos.
