ACCIONA is responsible for the operation, maintenance and conservation of the Oropesa desalination plant (Castellón). The plant has a treatment capacity of 48,700 m3/d, which can be increased to a maximum of 130,000 m3/d.

The contract’s worth is €3.4 million and has a duration of two years, extendable for another two. It was awarded by Acuamed, a public body under the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.

 

ACCIONA is also in charge of the desalinated water distribution network, which supplies the municipalities of Cabanes, Benicássim and Oropesa del Mar, supplying more than 150,000 inhabitants.

 

The operation of the facilities is carried out under the most demanding environmental and sustainability standards.
