The project consists of the extension of the network of the East Aqueduct of Santo Domingo, which supplies East Santo Domingo, one of the areas with the highest population density in the capital of the Dominican Republic.

The project sets out to cover the demand for water from the growing population of the area and improve supplies to the municipality of North Santo Domingo, increasing the availability of water for human consumption in a secure way.

The aqueduct will have three modules with a total production of 6 m3/ second. The water will be taken from the River Ozama and treated in the existing plant, which will also be extended as part of the project. A 41-kilometre-long macro distribution network will also be created to provide a service to the population, connecting the existing storage facilities with the three that will be built now.
