Design and construction of 18 bridges and 14.7 kilometers of highway

The Rockhampton Ring Road is a new 17.4 kilometers roadway incorporating 18 bridges and 14.7 kilometers of new alignment for the Bruce Highway to the west of Rockhampton.

ACCIONA, in collaboration with Fulton Hogan, is undertaking the design and construction of the Rockhampton Bypass, valued in the initial phase at A$280 million, the project includes the construction of the section of the bypass between the Bruce Highway / Rockhampton-Yeppoon Road intersection and the Monier Road embankment. It also includes works required for the realignment of Boundary Road, McLaughlin Street, the existing Boundary Road and Monier Road access, as well as the construction of accesses for the Dreamtime Cultural Centre, the Queensland Ambulance Service and the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services precinct.

The ring road will bypass 19 sets of traffic lights and eliminate more than 2,500 heavy vehicles per day through Rockhampton, improving safety, congestion, and travel times. It will also improve flood defense and traffic flow and capacity.
