'Gare de Oriente' Lisbon, Portugal See on Google Maps
The 'Gare de Oriente' intermodal station connects the rail, underground and bus lines in Lisbon. It was designed by architect Santiago Calatrava and built to facilitate access to the 1998 Universal Exhibition.

The 'Gare de Oriente' intermodal station also features underground parking, commercial areas, squares, avenues and a service building.

 

The station is divided into four levels: on the first level, above ground, the shopping malls, ticket offices, etc. are located. The second level contains the platforms and 8 lines of the station, with the platforms located on the access level. The lower levels of the station provide access to the underground line.

 

The bus station consists of three levels, two of which are underground. To cover the platforms sturdy glass 'fishbone' shaped structures have been built.
