new cost-effective sustainable reinforced concrete
Project objective:
ENDURCRETE Project is funded by European Commission under HORIZON 2020. The main goal of this project is to develop a new cost-effective sustainable reinforced concrete for long lasting and added value applications. The concept is based on the integration of novel low-clinker cement including high-value industrial by-products, new nano and micro technologies and hybrid systems ensuring enhanced durability of sustainable concrete structures with high mechanical properties, self-healing and self-monitoring capacities.
The activity related to the demonstration and validation of prototypes will be led by ACCIONA. Under this task the final products of ENDURCRETE will be tested in four places of high environmental aggression. The prototypes will be installed in a dock of the Port of Gijón 'El Musel' (Spain), in a mining tunnel facility - Santa Bárbara Foundation, located in the Castilla y León Region (Spain), in one of the KVAER ship yards in Stord (Norway) and on the Krk bridge located on the Adriatic Sea (Croatia).
