Objetive
In a community framework of development of wastes and landfills minimization policies , the goal of LIFE ECO-SANDFILL is to demonstrate that correctly pre-processed SFS can be advantageously reused in construction applications, contributing to achieve a “close to zero” landfill model for the main solid waste flow in foundry and reverting the current trend of sand excavation from virgin land.
Another synergic effects are the stimulation of the industrial activity in different sectors (casting, construction, waste management), production of good practice guidelines for future standardization of SFS exploitation and the reduction of costs of the foundry sand management in a 40% and of raw materials for construction in 30%..
