“Water intake works” in the Tajo-Segura Transfer canal
Design and construction
The works include “water intake works” in the Tajo-Segura Transfer canal, a dam of 1 Hm3 for the regulation of raw water, a gravity collection stretch with a diameter of 1200 mm and a intermediary pumping station to pump raw water into a second tank of 10,000 m3, next there is the treatment plant with a treated water tank of 50,000 m3 and a pumping station to the tanks of the distribution network of Albacete.
The treatment Plant has 2 treatment lines, each 0.5 m3/s with a preozonisation area, mixing chamber, sedimentation, intermediate ozonisation, sand filtration. Additionally, the treatment is completed with a sludge line with centrifugal dehydration. The following can be emphasised as one of the most significant aspects: Disinfection using ozone and catchment in the transfer canal
