INDUSTRY, INNOVATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE
Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation
Economic growth, social advancement and action against the climate emergency depend largely on investment in infrastructure, sustainable industrial development and technological progress. Today, about 1 billion people live more than 2 km from a roadway, 940 million live without electricity, and 663 million lack improved drinking water sources.
ACCIONA participates in the entire infrastructure construction value chain, from the identification of opportunity, design and execution, to the operation and maintenance of the constructed works, using the most advanced and innovative techniques.
Performance quality and safety are two of the criteria that maximize the company's value proposal in the development of large infrastructure projects and that differentiate it from other competitors in the construction field.
In April 2016, through its Airport Services activities, ACCIONA began to operate at Düsseldorf Airport, four months after being awarded one of the licences granted by the airport.
After four months of providing handling services, it already has a significant client portfolio that includes long-haul international flights.
The services provided include passenger assistance, loading operations and sheets, ramps, ticket sales and footbridges.
Throughout Germany, ACCIONA has also won contracts at the Frankfurt, Hamburg and three major Berlin airports (SXF, TXL, THF).
Key figures
- At Düsseldorf, 51 % of the electric equipment is composed of those in the baggage and loading belt tractor family (47 pieces of equipment).
- ACCIONA's tractors have the capacity to transport up to 50 tonnes of cargo or push back aircraft of the same weight.

INFORM
In line with its commitment to technology and innovation, ACCIONA has implemented the INFORM technology platform in its German handling operations;
this software helps manage resources and operational flight information more efficiently, improving the quality of the service offered to the customer. In addition, it entails a significant improvement for employees, as it balances the work load. ACCIONA also uses this system in Spain and Chile.
