Job Description

ACCIONA Agua is a global leader in sustainable water infrastructure, committed to delivering innovative and environmentally responsible solutions.

We are currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior SMP (Structural, Mechanical & Piping) Supervisor to join our team on the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Project — a landmark initiative aimed at securing long-term water supply for the region.

As the Senior SMP Supervisor, you will play a critical role in overseeing the structural, mechanical, and piping works on-site. You will ensure that all activities are executed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications, timelines, and quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong coordination, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate SMP construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

  • Manage subcontractors and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of works.

  • Monitor progress against the construction schedule and report on milestones, risks, and issues.

  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

  • Lead daily pre-starts, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.

  • Liaise with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to resolve technical queries.

  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, inspections, and quality documentation.

Required Skills and Competencies

About You

  • Proven experience in a similar SMP supervisory role within large-scale infrastructure or water projects.

  • Strong knowledge of structural, mechanical, and piping systems and installation practices.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage teams and subcontractors.

  • Sound understanding of HSE regulations and commitment to a safety-first culture.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Relevant trade qualifications or engineering background preferred.

  • Experience working on desalination or water treatment projects will be highly regarded.
