About Project

This role is an opportunity for you to join the highly successful Southern Program Alliance is contracted by Victorian Government to remove most dangerous and congested level crossings. This is a critical infrastructure project with significant public impact.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Communications & Stakeholder Relations on the Southern Program Alliance you will play an integral part in establishing and building the project’s positive reputation with the community and impacted residents, stakeholder groups, traders, and schools.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication and stakeholder engagement strategies aligned with project goals and timelines.

  • Identify key stakeholders and develop strong, positive relationships with these stakeholders through proactive engagement, consultation, and addressing concerns.

  • Proactively identifying potential issues and risks that could impact stakeholders or project reputation.

  • Planning, organizing, and facilitating various stakeholder engagement activities such as public meetings, workshops, information sessions, and one-on-one briefings. Ensuring appropriate feedback mechanisms are in place and that stakeholder input is considered and responded to.

  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of communication and stakeholder engagement activities. Providing regular reports to project leadership on stakeholder sentiment, key issues, and engagement outcomes.

  • Provide leadership and mentoring where applicable

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline

  • Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in stakeholder management, customer or community liaison and communications

  • Demonstrated experience on a Rail/ Civil Infrastructure project or within a similar complex environment highly desirable

  • Current Driver Licence and your own reliable vehicle.
