Job Description

The Sr. Scheduler will operate as an integral member of the Project Team, being totally responsible for program, resource analysis, and functional integration, forecast and trend analysis on major design and engineering projects.  Develop and maintain project master schedules, complete with resource loading, working closely with assistant project planner(s) and other Project Team engineering members to ensure accurate and timely reporting of work progress, earned value analysis and performance factor calculation. 

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and prepare master engineering and planning schedules.
  • Provide risk assessment and value engineering input.
  • Develop the Work Breakdown Structure.
  • Develop Project Milestone and Progress tracking baselines.
  • Support schedule risk analysis and schedule contingency determination.
  • Develop network logic to support integrated engineering schedules.
  • Perform analysis of schedule data; communicating trends, issues, and areas requiring attention to the Engineering Project Team.
  • Coordinate monthly schedule reporting, including schedule forecast updates and  schedule contingency management.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of P3 civil (roads, bridges and tunnels) and buildings construction Engineering process.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management/scheduling software primavera and MS Project.
  • Strong computer skills including Primavera, MS Project,
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, highly complex environment.
  • Able to multitask and work on several projects at the same time.
  • The successful candidate will possess a relevant civil engineering degree or similar.
  • Will have proven experience in planning of major civil engineering projects.  
  • Between 5 to 10 years’ experience with major contractor.
  • Design Build experience in a P3 environment.
  • Experience as a practicing Planning Manager in an engineering environment.
  • Experience in working in multi-national joint venture environment.
  • Experience supervising and training junior planners.

The typical compensation for this role is between $135K and $150K plus benefits, vacation time, sick time, RSP matching contribution, training and development.
