ACCIONA Energía is seeking a Regional Safety Specialist to support safety, training, and quality initiatives across operational renewable energy sites within a designated region. This role is pivotal in maintaining industry-leading safety standards, supporting site teams, and ensuring consistent implementation of corporate safety programs.

Job Description

Key responsibilities : 

  • Conduct frequent safety observations and support on-site mentoring and OJT standardization. 

  • Lead and coordinate emergency response drills and hands-on safety training. 

  • Promote consistency in safety documentation, PPE usage, and operational procedures across all sites. 

  • Perform safety audits, support incident investigations, and develop lessons learned. 

  • Collaborate with site managers to implement corrective actions and best practices. 

  • Ensure proper documentation of all training, incidents, and improvements in LMS and other reporting tools. 

  • Act as a regional liaison between site teams and corporate safety departments. 

  • Coordinate with HR to support health resources and employee assistance programs at each site. 

Required Skills and Competencies

About you: 

You’re a proactive and collaborative safety professional with a passion for building strong safety cultures. You bring both field experience and leadership capabilities, with a practical understanding of industry regulations and a commitment to continuous improvement. 

  • Bachelor’s degree or other relevant degree, preferably in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Technology, or Training and Development (with a technical or safety focus), within renewable energy or a related field.

  • Alternatively, 2+ years of experience in safety management, preferably within the energy or industrial sectors, or a combination of relevant education and experience.

  • 2+ years of experience as a technician in the energy or industrial sectors is preferred.

  • Competent in safety regulations and quality standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO, ANSI).

  • Hold current OSHA 500 certification

  • Be able to obtain and pass wind tower climb training

  • Skilled at coaching teams, conducting audits, and implementing safety improvements. 

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities. 

  • Comfortable traveling up to 40% and working outdoors when needed. 

  • Experience with LMS platforms, Maximo, or audit tools is a plus. 

  • Spanish or French language skills are a bonus. 

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a U.S. passport.
